| Posted by Dona Swenk | | Hello everyone, My name is Dona, I am not affliated in anyway with the military, but I just want to send my heartfelt thanks to all the men and women that risk their lives everday so people like myself can live in this free world. We, as myself, take so much of the freedoms that we have for granted on a daily basis and not think twice about it. I for one, would like to stand up and shout, "THANK YOU".. You men and women make the sacrifice for us and we love you for that.. |
| Posted by Jacquline Baldwin | | My name is Jackie and I live in Southern NJ. I want to thank all of our service members for the sacrifices they are making for all us back home. I am also a volunteer ambassador with the Army Freedom Team Salute program. All Army soldiers can have a thank you packet sent home to their family to thank them for standing behind and supporting them. They will each receive a certificate of appreciation and a thank you letter signed by the Army Chief of Staff and the Secretary of the Army, a sticker and a lapel pin. All of this is no charge to the soldier. It is just another way for the Army to allow you to show gratitude to your family supporters such as spouse, parents and children. Just log into www.freedomteamsalute.com and enter the information. If the form allows please enter my ambassador number (414) so I may receive credit for your submission. The packet will arrive in 4-6 weeks. Without your sacrifices we woud not be able to enjoy our freedom. My heart felt thanks go out to every member of each and every branch of the US Military. Everyone of you are in our prayers. You may contact my husband and myself at any time if you wish to receive correspondence from home. Our e-mail address is jackiebaldwin1@comcast.net. God Bless you all. Jackie & George |
| Posted by kristina tipton | | | I want to say thank you for serving are country and god bless u all and ur familys |
| Posted by Harry Wacke | | | First I would like to begin with three phrases that are a constant in my life, "Be not Afraid", "On eagles wings" and "Siempre presente". The first two are religious in nature and the third comes from my heritage as a "Nuyorican" which translates to "Always Present" . I am a retired member of the branch that always flys high, the United States Air Force. I retired in 1998 and currently work as a security assistant in a school system in Maryland. I am married with a son and daughter who were all military "family members" (not base brats) during my time of service. I also serve as a vice=president on a union execiutive council and proudly assit with a JROTC unit at my school. I am in no way able to thank you all four servic e and teamwork which it takes from day to day, hour to hour and minute to minute to survive. One of the greatest things for us to do for each other is to call each other grunt, graounpounder, fly boy or anchor clanker but remember that the the first two letters are "U.S." on that nametape and we are always US, no matter what. I spent fifteen years wearing a beret in Security Police and five years in Supply. In both, I was blessed with the term NCPO and scrounge. If you have five seconds and need to talk or just tell me why the NY Giants are the Super Bowl Champs or the New York Yankees are still the 26 time world champions, please feel free. A Nuyorican is a New Yorker how has rroots in Puerto Rcio but was born on the other island of Manhattan. I can be reached at either harry_h_wacke@mcpsmd.org or fiveaces52@hotmail.com. Till next time, Dios Te Bendiga (God Bless You) |

| Posted by Jane Hardin | | Hi, I'm Jane Hardin. I live in Horn Lake, MS, just outside of Memphis. I am actually a Southern transplant, tho. I was born in Cedar Rapids, IA & raised in Mt. Vernon, IA. Most of my adult life has been spent in Aurora, IL, where I went to X-Ray school. I have been a Radiologic Technologist for 40 yrs.now. That really sounds old, doesn't it, but I'm not quite 60. I taught x-ray positioning & physics at a chiropractic college for 20 yrs., which was a lot of fun. So I have been married 2x, and I have 2 children-35 & 31. I also have 5 step-kids AND 19 grandkids with 9 great-grandkids!!!! That really sounds old. All of my family is spread all over the country: Tampa/New Port Richey, FL, Newport News, VA, Mankato, MN, Aurora/Rockford, IL, New Albany/Holly Springs, MS, Sabula/Miles, IA are the main locations. One of my special past-times is doing my genealogy, so I have done a lot of family history in the past many years. While doing that research, I discovered that my father was in the Army Air Corps during the last part of World War II. He was a military aerial photographer over Japan. He told one of my uncles, and NO one else, that he was in one of the first crews over Japan after the bomb to take pictures. He never ever talked about that to any one else that I know of. He brought home pictures of the ship he went to war on, his base, his work area, Japanese girls, etc. My goal was then to try to obtain a copy of his military records to be able to keep that memory alive for all of our descendants. The answer I got was that the records must have burned in a fire. I just have a feeling that those records probably do exist in a classified area, tho. My father & I never really got along, but when I heard this story, it really made me feel so proud of him. I am also very proud of my brothers, Mike & Russell Baker. They both served in the Army. Mike was in just a short time, but Russell did his 20 yrs. He was a Sgt. at Ft. Eustace. He's now retired, but he still teaches soldiers how to repair helicopters, I think. Russell was the one who really made me realize how much we take for granted all of our freedoms, & how much we really do owe our military & veterans. So anyone reading this letter, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your sacrifices. Thanks for serving in our military. God Bless you and keep you safe always! | Posted by Pamela Bell | | | Hi! My son-in-law is Ssgt. in Air Force, recently posted to Elmendorf AFB, Alaska. I volunteer at the USO at DFW (Dallas/Ft. Worth) Airport. It doesn't matter what branch of service you are in, I love, appreciate, & pray for you all. To witness every week the loyalalty you exhibit toward your buddies, toward each other across the branches even, the joking, the bravado, the courage, the sensitivity, the self assurance, at "Out Bound" , "Redeployment",( or whatever ya'll call it) touches me in a way I never expected. I've enjoyed everyone I've met, & I hope I've been able to bless some of ya'll at the same time. Next time you are in Dallas-DFW, stop by Bravo15 or David 21, & say hi. If you are going thru DFW back in country on Tuesdays, I'll see you there!!! I work what we call "Operation Send-off", for anyone going overseas through Dallas We appreciate you & your families putting your lives on hold for the mission. If this is your life, bless you! It can be a fantastic career. God Bless Ya'll Pamela Bell from Dallas, Texas |

I wish all of you serving over seas a speedy and safe return home from your duties. May God watch over you and keep you safe. | Posted by Robert Guarino | | Almighty God, our Source of strength and courage, we ask Thee to guide the leaders of nations in the ways of peace and justice and enduring freedom for the peoples of the world.
In these times of peril and war against terrorism listen to our prayers for the men and women serving in our armed forces, our military leaders and our allies. Protect them all from harm as they go into battle on land, in the sea and in the air.
Take away whatever fear from their hearts and enable them to overcome swiftly and decisively the violence and cruelty of the enemy.
Protect them from the hatred of others and bolster their personal pride of being American as they rid our world of the works of darkness and weapons of mass destruction.
Console their loved ones and family members who remain on the home front. Gently dry the tears of those who mourn for the wounded in battle and those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.
Oh God, bless them with Thy presence. Grant us homeland security. May Thy Peace, the fruit of justice, truth and mercy, reign in America and throughout the world. Amen.

| Posted by Roddy Merritt | | | During this time of the race for the white house I think our #1 priority should be the war and the troops. Our country needs our men and women in armed forces and their families to be thought of. In the movie Black Hawk Down there is an important part where the troops say no one left behind no one forgotten and I think this is something that not only our military should live by but we as Americans should live by... |
| Posted by tina stacy | | | just letting you know that i am thinking of all of you and thank all of you for doing what you do. i know each of you have different things you do. but it all comes down to freedom. and that is why you are there. you sacifice so much. and thank you sometimes just does'nt seem enough. so thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, a million times thank you. my heart goes out to all of you and your families. god speed and take care. |
